<p>ENCOUNTER Charlotte is a two-day orientation to Charlotte and to  community leadership. This program is open to newcomers to Charlotte and  those who simply want to get involved. Participants learn first hand  from a wide range of community leaders about what makes Charlotte work.  Participants will come away with new relationships, a greater knowledge  of our local community, and specific ways they can make a difference in  our community.</p>

<p>Join Leadership Charlotte Alumni on  Saturday, April 21 from 8:30 to 11:30 for a morning of service to our  community!  Alumni are encouraged to bring their classmates, friends,  neighbors and family members!  Please note, some projects are open for  children to attend with their guardians to participate in a project.</p>

<p>Nomination Deadline Extended!</p>
<p>The annual Leadership Charlotte Legacy Awards will be given during a breakfast event on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Time Warner Cable Arena.  The Legacy Awards Breakfast will honor those who are leaving a lasting legacy in our community through their volunteer leadership.</p>
<p>The event is open to the entire community and is an opportunity to honor the award winners and celebrate community leadership!</p>
<p>Nominate your favorite Community Leader! The deadline to submit a nomination is January 31, 2012.</p>

<p>This event is open to anyone interested in the International Community.</p>
<p>Please plan to arrive early to network and enjoy food and wine and plan to stay to hear from Leadership Charlotte Executive Director Elizabeth McKee and Mayor Pro-Tem Patrick Cannon.<br />
Parking is available for a nominal fee in the government center parking deck located on Davidson Street.</p>
<p>Participants include Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Chamber of Commerce, Latin American Chamber of Commerce of  Charlotte, The Carolinas Asian-American Chamber of Commerce, The Charlotte  International Cabinet and more.</p>
